![]() Or if you wish to keep them then connect an external drive to your computer and transfer the files to the external drive before you delete them on the computer. ![]() You can delete them by putting into the Trashcan, then Emptying the Trash. It is safe to remove any files belonging to you and found in your Home folder - Documents, Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures, and maybe Sites. Your "startup disk" is the one on which OS X is installed and from which you startup the computer. Try using OmniDiskSweeper 1.8 or GrandPerspective to search your drive for large files and where they are located. Highlight things there and do a Get Info, CMD-I, to see how big those files are in MB/Megabytes and which ones are taking up the most room. And don't look anywhere else but in that Folder. For now, don't touch anything in the Library. Check out OWC for drives, tutorials, and toolkits. Double click on the HD Folder and go to Users and you will see it there. ![]() You should consider replacing the drive with a larger one.
